We had a day date yesterday. Slept in, got coffee, then visited my sister and brother-in-law. Picked up some flowers, and then visited mom. Her headstone was very over grown. Cue the fire ants and itchy leaves. We pulled up as many as we could and told Dad to bring trimmers next time he is down.

Zach helped me display the flowers. He never pesters, he never gets annoyed, and he ALWAYS pays for the flowers. When I was worried that the stems needed to be trimmed he made sure to snap every single one so they fit in the vase perfectly. We cleaned her headstone and we always give flowers to the neighbors as well because thats what Mom would do. I got to show her my ring, but joked that she has probably already seen it cause it is so big and sparkly.

I miss her everyday. I wish she could be here to help me plan the wedding, pick a dress.

Afterwards, we were hungry so we hit up our favorite place, Mellow Mushroom. Zach of course paid and we had a nice lunch, talking about friends, work, and cars. An easy drive home to the puppy, and then 2 bottles of wine and a movie later, showered and in bed.

He is my best friend. I understand now how people in relationships distance themselves from others by not meaning to. I don’t want to spend time with anyone else. I only want him.
